Little League World SeriesU.S. takes LLWS for 3rd straight year By: Matt Collins Source: Espn Date: August 29, 2007 Once again the U.S. proves to be t he superior baseball country in the world. For the third year in a row the United States has won the Little League World Series, this time in dramatic fashion. Georgia’s own Dalton Carriker blasted a bottom of the 8th inning solo walk off home run to defeat Japan 3-2 in extra innings. "I felt like I was flying, like Peter Pan," Carriker said. "I didn't know what I was doing." What a rush for a 12 year old kid from Warner Robbins, Georgia, who blasted a 2-1 pitch from Japan’s Junsho Kiuchi to win it all for the U.S. Georgia got a lot of help from reliever Kendall Scott, who came in the game to strike out 10 in 5 plus innings of work. "Going out there today, throwing the ball, I was scared to death on the first pitch," Scott said . Scott left in the top of the 8 th, giving way to Zane Conlon, who got the last out for Georgia . The United States three year streak is the longest since the U.S. won it all 8 straight years from 1959-1966. "I'll remember every second of this," Carriker said. "This has been crazy."
