The Mount Juliet Golden Bears open their 2012 football season August 17th at home. Their challenger is rival, the Lebanon Blue Devils. Mount Juliet has been impressive this pre-season with wins against Hillsboro, Shelbyville, and Franklin. In comparison the Blue Devils have worked hard this off season and are excited about their season. The Bears are ranked 12th in Tennessee while the Blue Devils are sitting at 181. This is a district game and is highly meaningful to both teams. Both teams have key
returning starters on offense. The bears return Caleb Hopkins, Contrez McCathern, and Jalen Graham and the Blue Devils return Ethan Copas and Daniel Kemp. The defensive side of the ball for the Blue Devils brings mostly new players but a few key returners for the Bears like Cody Carr and Josh Belhu. This is highly anticipated season-opener for both teams and should be a battle. Both teams plan to open up the season 1-0 but who will come out on top? Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.
