MJHS TAKES A STAND

 

Govenor Bill Haslam Tour -Some students from the AP and Honors Government classes and students from BNN attended a campaign bus-stop for Bill Haslam @ Charlie Daniels Park on Thursday morning. Many of Mt. Juliet’s elected officials were on hand as well as Sen. Bob Corker and Sen. Lamar Alexander to talk and take pictures with the crowd. BNN was given access to interview Mayor Haslam about the gubernatorial campaign and issues concerning teens.

ACADEMIC DECATHLON

Over the weekend, Mt. Juliet High School’s Academic Decathlon team finished first in the large school division in the state of Tennessee. This qualified us to take part in the on-line large school national championships, which will take place over three days in April. Our team members are:

High School Introduction to Engineering Systems Program at University of TN
Ryan Grijalva attended the program and received the Roller Coaster Award. He is noted as a gifted student and a hard worker. In addition, because of his inquisitive nature and interest in science, he has a bright future in engineering.

SUMMER 2010

Leslie Bringhurst was awarded GOVERNOR at the Volunteer Girls State and Christopher Davison was selected to go to Boys Nationals at the Developer of Leaders and future Statespersons.
