News Channel 4 - Cool Schools

With cool weather comes a cool school

By: Jasmine Stiles-Barnes/MJHS newspaper/November 12, 2007

The school packed with exhausted students early Friday morning when Channel 4 news came to visit.  The gym filled with bear pride of over 1100 students at 4:00 a.m. Actually, our MJHS studencool schoolsts dominated in the highest amount of students to attend a Cool School event ever.
Channel 4’s Aaron Solomon seemed to enjoy the event just as much as the students did.  Many people came dressed in their Spirit Day outfits, though others stated it was too early in the morning to gather up something like that and instead insisted on throwing on a hoodie.

The whole entire occasion was filled with exciting and amusing events, especially the dancing. The most popular dances were Crank That (Soulja Boy), the Cha Cha Slide, and the ever-traditional “Bear Shuffle.” There was even a dance-off between Snowbird and the Golden Bear.

Besides dancing, there was a bunch of screaming and shouting done as well.  It seemed that every time we went on air, the film consisted of crazed students jumping up and down, shouting at the top of their lungs.

Other than filming the ecstatic students, our amazing step team, dance team, and cheerleaders got their time in the spotlight as well.
This incredible occasion will definitely never be forgotten. To keep up the memories of this exhilarating event, DVD’s can be purchased in the school’s front office for twenty dollars.
